19 Mar Springtime Permaculture Gardening
Before the start of the new permaculture season we invited some of the parents whose children are a part of our Educational Centre project, to help us clean out the garden from weeds and grass and to prepare it for this year’s season of permaculture. This was a great opportunity for us to introduce this new part of the Educational Centre to the parent, and to inform them about all of the activities that will follow, as well as the overall benefits of having a permacultural food garden.
Halfway through we were joined by the youngest of our beneficiaries, the children from the Preschool Centre, whom we plan to involve in our Educational Centre starting this fall, with the start of the new school year.
Our partner from the Green Ark organization, Ognen held an informative meeting for part of the parents and volunteers who are going to be involved in the project, and at the end we all indulged in some serious fruit devouring and warmed ourselves up with coffee and tea.
Our garden is now ready for the new permaculture season. The next step would be cultivating the soil and laying down a new layer of straw.
